My art is about getting back to being alive—authenticity, joy, beauty, sharing, creating, for their own sake and holding the door open for others to join. How my energy is inspired, comes in waves. Past creations have included: furniture, wall hangings, paintings, drawings/illustrations, clothing, metal work, pottery and more.

Shape of Sound
These pieces were inspired by the visible and invisible forms and constant movements of nature. Also heavily influencing each piece is sound. A wide range of sounds influenced these works, including the wind, water, insects, near silence, blues guitar, French cabaret, and electronic folk-pop.
Elyse is inspired by the beauty that exists in the everyday. Woodgrain, line, the dull luster of metal, stone, the sound of the wind, wrinkles in fabric, plants, people, light, expression.... Making art is looking at and listening to what already exists and then attempting to capture the feelings it creates..
Elyse brings her endless fascination with the tension between randomness and high levels of structure and purpose that exist in Nature, to her work. Her creations are a constant attempt to see what lies beyond the constructs of the human eye and mind. Beauty is everywhere. We have to choose to see it.
